Control of ruminant parasites is currently mainly based on the use of internal (anthelmintics) or external (insecticides) chemical antiparasitic molecules. However, the increasingly development of multi-resistance and the ecotoxicity of some of these molecules lead us to rethink our control strategies.

We are developing and applying the concept of integrated pest management to the control of ruminant gastrointestinal strongyles and livestock hematophagous flies.

Our research therefore focuses on finding ways of using pesticides more rationally, and on evaluating alternative methods to chemical treatments… (host resistance enhancement, new grazing practices, biocontrol, traps, etc.), in order to provide farmers with the tools to make an agro-ecological transition on their farms.

Multi-trapping and biocontrol of hematophagous flies, mainly horse flies and stable flies.

Rational and sustainable use of anthelmintics in ruminants.

Innovative and sustainable control of gastrointestinal nematodes in ruminants.
